William M. Davis said the fire department “is one of the better departments in the city of Detroit,” but urged more support because the city has many older structures. “I think there’s a need to make sure that the fire department is more efficient and and more reliable,” Davis said. He also suggested expanding and better using the airport to encourage economic activity.
