The board approved an emergency repair not to exceed $25,000 to replace deteriorated cast‑iron plumbing under the jail after staff reported a failing P‑trap and told commissioners epoxy lining would not work. Commissioners also voted to buy three 275‑gallon totes of a tacky asphalt binder (referred to in the meeting as the DAM product) to keep the county’s new Patcher machine operational; staff recommended no more than three totes while the new public‑works director evaluates longer‑term needs.
Other actions included approval of the meeting agenda, approval of the Feb. 25 regular meeting minutes (one abstention recorded), a motion to surplus two 2008 Kubota zero‑turn mowers and donate them to Talbot County, and scheduling two work sessions to prioritize projects.
