Council transfers Park Trust and summer lunch funds to support Regner Park Aqua Park

The Common Council approved two transfers on Dec. 16 to support the Aqua Park project at Regner Park.
Public Works Director Mike requested a transfer of $233,000 from the Park Trust Park Impact fee account to a capital expense account for the Aqua Park. Mike said the Park Trust Park Impact fee fund balance is $657,463 and that the account is intended for new park development projects that serve the whole community.
Council also approved transferring $30,307.99 from summer picnic lunch accounts into the capital account for the Aqua Park. Mike told the council the summer picnic lunch program has not operated for several years, participation declined and staffing no longer supports running the program; the motion would empty those accounts and dedicate the balance to the Aqua Park.
Both measures passed by voice vote.
