The Planning Commission on Feb. 4 voted to set a public hearing for April on two related items: a Comprehensive Plan Amendment to change recommended land use from two-family residential to single-family residential for approximately 9.8 acres in the Creek Side subdivision, and a rezoning to change the property from RD2 (two-family) to RS4 (single-family).
Staff said the developer requested the change to make the parcel consistent with the surrounding single-family pattern in the subdivision; staff concluded the change would be reasonable given lot sizes and separation from nearby multifamily areas. The commission set the public hearing to allow public comment and formal consideration at a future meeting, noting the 30-day notice requirement pushes the hearing into April.
Commissioners discussed how the amendment would connect to existing roads (Edgewater and Kilborn extensions) and confirmed the change would make the new area consistent with the Pintail phase of the subdivision. The motion to set the public hearing carried without recorded opposition.
