Board approves signage variance for Take 5 Oil Change at Grant Avenue site

The Zoning Board of Appeals on Jan. 27 approved an area variance to permit an additional wall sign for a new Take 5 Oil Change at 232–234 Grant Avenue.
Richard Reinaman, appearing on behalf of the applicant, said the request is to allow one additional wall sign over the typical allowance of one wall sign per facade. The board reviewed submitted drawings and photographs and heard no public objections.
Board members described the proposed signage as appropriate for the business frontage. The board voted to grant the variance; roll-call votes recorded ayes from the members present. The chair advised the applicant to coordinate with the Codes Office this week to complete permit paperwork and any next steps.
The motion names Clinton Signs Inc. (of Webster, New York) as the sign contractor in the motion record; the applicant’s representative said the changes are corporate branding for the new location. There was no public testimony against the application and no additional conditions beyond the usual requirement to see Codes for permitting.
