Assistant or staff member Garland told the council RJC Development originally offered to purchase the parcel three years ago as part of a broader development on John Warshall Boulevard (now the company’s corporate headquarters) and employs about 20 people in the city. The company is now returning with the earlier contemplated purchase.
Councilor Kent sponsored the resolution; Councilor Overstreet Wilson seconded it. The mayor was authorized to sign sale documents and city staff were directed to record proceeds into the city’s sale‑of‑real‑property revenue account.
The resolution text and council discussion indicate the sale follows the city’s land sale policy and that the purchase price reflects fair market value set before the city took title.
