Historic preservation planner Yanni Jones told council the barn was moved roughly nine feet within the Remington parcel and that the relocation complied with Chapter 14, Article 4 of the municipal code because the barn "remained within its historic context" and the move enabled repair and rehabilitation, a raised foundation to protect the structure from a flood plain, and removal from an alley right‑of‑way where it previously encroached. The project was reviewed at a public hearing before the Historic Preservation Commission in February, which issued a certificate of appropriateness.
Council voted by roll call in favor of ordinance number 52 20 25 amending the landmark boundary. No public opposition was recorded during the item.
