The planning commission voted to table appointing a member to the contract-review committee at the March 21 meeting.
Commissioner Brooke said she needed to decline because of potential conflicts with her nonprofit role; she proposed that the commission consider appointing either a commissioner or an external community member to represent the commission and report back periodically. Commissioners agreed to pause the appointment while staff gathers timelines and reviews possible bylaw changes.
Brooke volunteered to work with staff on timelines; the commission moved and seconded a motion to table the appointment and approved it on a roll-call vote. Commissioners recorded affirmative votes from those present.
Staff will return in a later meeting (discussed timing included June–August as an option) with a recommendation on whether to appoint a commissioner or an outside representative and with a proposed approach for filling the seat when appropriate.
