Council opens public hearing on Midtown at Westfield voluntary annexation; no public comment

Ryan Collingwood of the Community Development Department presented a voluntary annexation petition for Midtown at Westfield (Phase 1) on March 24 and the council opened a public hearing, which had no public speakers.
Collingwood said the annexation petition, filed as Ordinance 24-63, covers about 39 acres generally on the east side of East Street and south of West 190th Street. Staff confirmed the item was properly noticed and advertised and eligible for adoption at the council's first April meeting, at which time the fiscal plan will also be presented.
The council opened the public hearing at 7:27 p.m.; no members of the public stepped forward and the hearing was closed the same night. The petition remains a first-reading item; staff will return with the fiscal plan and recommendation at the April meeting.
