Finance staff updated the committee on planned dates for FY2026 budget hearings. Staff said the goal is to present the FY2026 budget to the governing body at its regular meeting on May 14 so the city can submit the budget to the state by the statutory deadline of June 1. Staff noted that Wednesday, April 30 (a governing-body meeting day) is expected to wrap by 2 p.m. to accommodate both meetings.
Councilors acknowledged receipt of the emailed schedule and noted the committee’s next meeting date. Staff asked departments and council to plan around those dates for budget hearings.
