The Lincoln Planning Board voted Jan. 22 to recommend two rooftop solar projects to the Zoning Board, approving the recommendations on the meeting’s consent agenda.
Planning staff said both cases seek use variances to allow roof-mounted solar arrays; the actions were required because changes in state law and the town’s use table left certain solar installations as nonpermitted in the current table of uses. Staff told the board the Technical Review Committee reviewed both projects and recommended support, and that a future ordinance amendment will insert rooftop solar as a permitted use with project-specific standards.
Because both items were on the consent agenda, a single motion to approve the consent agenda was made and seconded; the board approved the consent agenda by voice vote. The motion to approve the consent agenda was recorded as moved by Mister Rahman and seconded by Mister Takedevis; the vote passed (ayes have it).
The recommendations will go to the Zoning Board for its hearings and decisions on the use-variance requests and any site-specific conditions.
