Attorney Samantha Ferrucci and Amica senior assistant vice president Todd Larson described the request. Ferrucci said the application included two new branded elements — a three‑dimensional building logo and an archway logo over a courtyard entry — and replacement of five existing wayfinding signs with updated branded versions. The applicants said several wayfinding signs already exist on the lot; the request covers replacement and the two new branded features.
Planning staff calculated the proposed total at approximately 70.89 square feet. The Technical Review Committee and the Planning Board recommended a positive outcome, noting the proposed signage is located at entry points, not visible from the highway, and is proportionate to the lot and building. The board read the special‑use standards into the record and discussed lighting; applicants confirmed the signs are internally lit but can be controlled by timers and that the property is a 24/7 operation, which the board said addresses the town rule about sign illumination after hours.
Chair (name not specified) moved to approve a special use permit to allow up to seven signs and up to 71 square feet of branded signage on the Amica Way parcel; Member Bataille seconded. The board voted unanimously in favor.
