Staff noted they already had a contract with one vendor and that new addenda had arrived that county counsel needed to review.
During the debris discussion, commissioners raised questions about FEMA and GEMA reimbursement, how cubic-yard calculations would be separated between county and federal-funded work, and how payment percentages might change after an initial nine-day period. The board asked staff to draft debris-ticketing procedures and to consult with state emergency-management officials about reimbursement breakdowns before changing service arrangements.
Staff were assigned to investigate contractor performance, provide options for partial county-led debris collection, and return recommendations to the commission about cost, staffing, and FEMA/GEMA reimbursement processes.
