The district intends to advertise the project for bids and perform related small renovations such as adjusting bleacher clearance and adding a shot-clock compatible scoreboard as part of the work.
No contract awards were approved at the Jan. 13 meeting; the board was briefed and staff said they would move to advertise for bids and follow the district procurement process. Board members asked about bleacher clearance and safety; staff described planned adjustments to back bleacher seating to improve floor clearance and spectator sightlines.
Staff emphasized the schedule and phased approach: hazardous-material removal first, then flooring installation once the concrete slab is cleared. The board voted that day on related business-service items (server support, MOUs, reimbursements) but did not vote on the gym-floor project itself.
