Antunes said a $2,500 donation came from a building trades group coordinated by Mr. Tassone, Durastone Corporation donated concrete curbing that saved the project "over $4,000," and members of the public works and volunteers helped install poles and footings. "Our next step is to have a permanent fence in the outfield. We would like to have irrigation, put in the outfield as well and also, a bullpen to be created," she said.
Council members asked Antunes to provide cost estimates for the fencing and other work so the council could consider funding or other assistance; Antunes said irrigation materials would be donated by her husband and that the remaining open question was who would pay the ongoing water bill. No formal action or funding was approved at the meeting.
