Oconee County fire commission hears update on Bad Creek tower equipment and repeaters

Director Crown, director, and staff said the Oconee Nuclear Station tower schematic is nearing completion and will include a dispatch channel and an operations channel. Leadership from dispatch and emergency services have been invited to the commission’s April meeting to review that schematic and discuss operational details. No formal vote or funding decision on the schematic or tower procurement was recorded at the March meeting.
Commission members and staff emphasized coordination with Anderson County for reinstallation timing and with the sheriff’s office for equipment siting and building procurement.
