Board backs letter of support for Hemlock-based fiber provider’s BEAD application

Commissioner George moved the county letter of support and Commissioner Steve seconded; the board voted by voice in favor. The motion directs county staff to prepare and sign a support letter to accompany the provider’s BEAD grant application. No county financial commitment was requested or authorized at the meeting.
Commissioners framed the vote as consistent with previous efforts to bring fiber to county residents. Staff will coordinate the final letter language and log the county’s support for the provider’s application.
