Delta County ratifies corrections contract after closed-session negotiations

Delta County commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to ratify a collective-bargaining agreement with county corrections staff following a closed session on the subject.
The board moved into closed session under the Open Meetings Act for discussions about the corrections bargaining unit. After reconvening in public, commissioners voted to ratify the agreement with corrections employees. No additional contract terms were announced during the public reconvening and the board stated no actions were taken while in closed session.
Commissioners conducted a roll-call vote on the ratification and recorded unanimous support. During post-vote remarks a commissioner thanked Administrator Young, Commissioner Jensen, Tony LaPlante and corrections staff for their work on the contract.
The board did not announce details of the contract in the public record at the meeting. The chair instructed staff to process the contract signatures as directed by the board.
