The Cascade County Board of Health approved the Cascade County Health DepartmentStrategic Plan for 2025 through 2030 at a regular meeting, with a voice vote approving the motion.
The strategic plan lays out five priority areas intended to guide the department through 2030: partnerships, workforce development, technology and data use, policy and systems change, and community engagement. Board members discussed the plan briefly and then moved to adopt it.
Abigail (staff member) presented the plan and asked the board for approval. "The priority areas on page 12 are the bigger areas that are going to be guiding us over the next five years," she said. The motion to approve was seconded by a board member and carried after an aye vote.
Board members heard that some objectives and measures will be developed after targeted assessments, including communications and partnerships reviews. Abigail told the board the department will perform assessments on partnerships, communication and data use over the coming year to refine implementation details.
The board did not record a roll-call tally in the transcript; the chair called for voice votes and announced the motion carried. The board also agreed to route future reporting and any adjustments to the plan through regular meetings.
Looking ahead, staff said they will return to the board with implementation details, performance measures and any requests for policy or budget adjustments tied to the plan.
