County begins Tyler financial/payroll software implementation; go-live targeted for April 28

County staff reported ongoing implementation of the Tyler enterprise financial system for general ledger (GL) and accounts payable, with payroll configuration and testing underway and an anticipated go-live date of April 28.

Staff said invoices are being entered in the new system and checks are printing; the treasurer’s office is working on bank reconciliation, cashiering and receiving modules. Payroll work has required intensive staff time, with parallel payrolls planned around the week of March 24 and validation the week of April 7. Staff cautioned that the transition is substantial given the county’s decades-long use of the previous system and that continued post-conversion work will be required for months.

The implementation team highlighted heavy staff involvement and thanked fiscal and payroll staff for extended hours. Supervisors were warned to expect delays in routine reports while staff complete validation and configuration. The county anticipates continued troubleshooting and training after conversion and asked department heads to be patient as reporting processes stabilize.
