On culverts, staff recommended continuing to purchase metal culverts from True North Steel and Contact Engineering, noting roughly a $1-per-foot savings relative to alternatives and stable pricing from the suppliers. The committee approved locking in pricing for one year and ordering as needed rather than stockpiling inventory.
On campus infrastructure, staff said the campus-bridge contract was awarded to Larson Construction at about $523,000 after disqualifying the low bidder for lack of relevant bridge experience; the vendor expects to start late this month pending permits and a resolution will be presented to authorize payment upon completion.
