Committee forwards SRX (TriNet) vaccine-tracking contract to board after discussion of state registry limits

The Dahl Memorial Clinic Planning Committee on Jan. 21 voted to forward a proposed SRX (TriNet) subscription contract to the full board for approval. The vendor’s software is intended to track immunizations, tie records to individual patients in the clinic electronic health record and lock administration if a scanned vaccine does not match an order.
Staff described the system as a safety and inventory tool that integrates with the clinic’s Athena electronic record and runs on a designated server. The packet’s pricing lists an ongoing cost of roughly $15.40 per month and a setup process handled remotely.
Committee members pressed staff about how SRX/TriNet would interact with Alaska’s state vaccine registry (VACtrack) and with vaccine records produced at schools, out-of-state clinics, military service or other providers. Keely Becky Harris described a personal example in which a clinic-generated immunization paper showed no recorded shots despite her daughter having been immunized at school last year.
Staff cautioned that SRX will not fully correct gaps in the state registry: "If you run the query in the system and there's nothing there, there's not a whole lot we can do about that," staff said. They added that while SRX helps prevent administering the wrong vaccine at the clinic by locking mismatched products at point of care, it cannot force third parties to submit records to the state system.
Action: the committee voted to forward the SRX TriNet contract to the full board for approval. Staff said the contract is a subscription service with a one-time setup and an ongoing monthly fee listed in the packet as approximately $15.40.
What committee members asked staff to clarify: whether the CFR citations referenced in related policies were up to date; whether SRX would store data centrally; and whether the $5,000 signatory threshold for certain contracts would apply for other items in the packet. Staff agreed to follow up before the board meeting.
