The Assembly Committee on Community Development and Women’s Affairs advanced multiple noncontroversial bills and two resolutions at the same hearing. Lawmakers released measures that would: bar insurers from using body weight to determine coverage for eating-disorder treatment (A4982); require eating-disorder training for certain athletic trainers and coaches (A4983); expand Department of Children and Families student-support services to include eating-disorder services and permit needs assessments by regional hubs (A4984); and designate a permanent Eating Disorders Awareness Week (AJR205).
