KIPP San Jose students ask board to visit campus ahead of charter renewal

Students representing KIPP Navigate and KIPP San Jose Collegiate asked the board to schedule visits so trustees can observe programming, meet teachers and families, and better understand the schools' role in the community ahead of decisions on charter renewal. Several students emphasized family involvement and described after‑school clubs and office hours that helped them improve academically.
Board members acknowledged the invitations; the superintendent and trustees said staff would coordinate possible site visits during the charter renewal process. No board action on the charters occurred during the meeting.
