Website redesign underway; police advisory committee preparing content and FAQ coordination

Staff said the borough engaged Revize to build a new government website and that the contract timeline is roughly six months to a finished design. Kelsey and other staff are working with the vendor on site mapping and user experience; staff emphasized organizing content to match how residents search for services rather than internal department structure. A draft site map and mockups are expected to be developed before specific content requests are circulated to boards and commissions.
Rebecca Starr, chair of the Police Advisory Committee, said the committee is developing FAQs and other materials for the police-related pages but wants to align with the borough’s site timeline; staff estimated that content requests from boards and commissions could start in about two months once site-mapping and mockups are complete.
Staff said the vendor showed examples from other municipalities (including the Town of Victoria) during the vendor-selection process and that boards and commissions will be asked to review mockups and suggest content to improve resident navigation and access to police and public-safety information. No formal committee action was taken.
