Glendora Trails Council reports leadership change, upcoming hikes and Trails Day

A representative of the Glendora Trails Council updated the Community Services Commission on recent leadership changes and the council’s spring schedule.
The Trails Council representative, identified in meeting minutes as Ed, said longtime Trails Council member and trail designer [name redacted in packet] resigned for personal reasons and that the council subsequently elected Jack Avenila as chair and Scott Stapenhill as vice chair. Ed described the departing member as a “wealth of knowledge” who named and designed many local trails and said the council will recruit new members to expand capacity.
Ed outlined upcoming hikes and events: a March 29 hike at Big Dalton; an April 26 Earth Day hike at South Hills that will coincide with city Earth Day activities; a May hike at Little Dalton Canyon; and Glendora Trails Day on April 5 at Big Dalton from approximately 8 a.m. to late morning.
Ending: The commission noted the leadership changes and asked staff to provide information for recruitment and promotion of Trails Day.
