The Hopkinton Town Council approved an ordinance amendment to Chapter 2, Division 4 — the town’s Economic Development Commission (EDC) — formalizing changes to the commission’s structure and increasing membership.
Councilors discussed the measure under unfinished business and described it as a follow-up to previous discussions. One councilor said the commission had grown from three members to a larger working group and that the amendment brings the ordinance into alignment with current practice.
A motion to approve the ordinance amendment passed; recorded votes included James, Davis, Roy and Burns in favor. Councilors thanked members of the EDC for their work and said the change will help the commission carry out its responsibilities.
Ending: The ordinance amendment was approved at the Feb. 18 meeting and will be updated in the town’s code; the county clerk/town clerk will publish the amended ordinance.
