The Hopkinton licensing board approved a multi-event permit for Ashaway Pines RV Resort, allowing the campground to host monthly Saturday evening events from April through October, with performances and amplified sound ending by 9 p.m.
Deborah Covey, manager of Ashaway Pines RV Resort, addressed the board and described last season’s events as “great,” saying they began at 6 p.m. and ended by 9 p.m. She said prior approvals had effectively allowed one event per month and that the resort limited live music to Saturday nights.
A nearby resident spoke in favor of the events, noting economic benefits for the community and saying there were no objections at last season’s hearing. Planning and zoning constraints limit the number or timing of events, the applicant said; to change the monthly limit would require action by planning and zoning.
The licensing board voted to grant the permit; recorded votes included members identified as James, Davis, Roy, Burns and Gary voting in favor.
Ending: The license allows Ashaway Pines to hold the events as described; any future request to increase frequency would require planning‑and‑zoning review.
