The Westmont Village Board on March 20 approved a slate of ordinances, appointments and routine items. Highlights from board actions follow.

Appropriations ordinance (fiscal year Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2025): The board closed a public hearing and adopted an appropriations ordinance totaling $135,991,278 that includes the Westmont Public Library ($3,544,180) and police and fire pension funds ($7,179,500). Finance staff reported the village portion across 16 funds totals $125,267,590.98. Trustee Little moved approval; Trustee Parker seconded. The motion passed on roll call.

Consent agenda: The board approved minutes from March 6, Finance Ordinance No. 6 totaling $1,593,835.52, a purchase order to Tyler Technologies for $34,728.75, the January 2025 monthly treasurer's report, and a 2025 resolution supporting the mayor's monarch pledge. Trustee Little moved approval; Trustee Scales seconded. Roll call approved the consent agenda.

Appointment to Plan & Zoning Commission: The board confirmed Mayor Gunter's appointment of Connor Donahue to the open planning and zoning commissioner position. Donahue introduced himself as an IT vice president and Westmont resident; Trustee Nero moved the confirmation and the board voted yes.

Tree and landscaping ordinance reapproval: The board reapproved comprehensive amendments to chapters 80 and 86 of the Westmont Code of Ordinances regarding trees and landscaping. Village Attorney Zemenak said the reapproval corrects formatting and penalty language and does not make substantive changes beyond penalty revisions. Trustee Berry moved approval; Trustee Nero seconded and the motion passed.

Other votes: The Washington and Traube infrastructure contract was awarded and a separate ordinance increasing the non‑home‑rule sales tax to 1% were adopted; both are covered in separate reports.

All motions noted above passed on roll call.
