The Westmont Village Board on March 20 adopted an ordinance awarding a construction contract for the Washington and Traube Infrastructure Improvement Project to Performance Construction and Engineering LLC.

Director Rees told the board the village received three responsive bids and one bid was judged nonresponsive after consultation with Attorney Zemenak. Rees said the project scope includes water‑main replacement on Washington Street from Naperville to Ogden, work on Traube adjacent to the school, storm‑sewer installation on Traube and Grant, curb and gutter, sidewalk, asphalt paving, pavement markings and landscape restoration. He said the school‑adjacent segments will be scheduled for summer construction when school is not in session.

The ordinance text on the floor listed the contract amount as $6,565,713; in the staff presentation Rees said the low bid was $6,568,713 and noted that figure is about 0.75% higher than the engineer's estimate. Trustee Berry asked whether the village had used Performance Construction and Engineering previously; Rees said he had not worked with the firm directly but that Baxter & Woodman had checked references and found them satisfactory.

Trustee Little moved approval; Trustee Guzzo seconded. The motion passed on roll call.

The contract will cover the public‑works elements described in the bid documents. The ordinance awards the contract consistent with the bid documents and authorizes the village manager to execute the construction contract.
