Facilities staff said a full fire-alarm test is scheduled for Presidents' Day. The test is expected to take roughly 30 minutes and is disruptive; staff said they will perform it during business hours but will try to minimize disruption.
Members also discussed audiovisual upgrades for the boardroom. Staff said ordered equipment is expected in two to three months and asked for input on TV placement and mock-ups before installation. A vendor will provide proposals to tone down boardroom woodwork to match recent renovations.
Emergency management and zoning reports described training and coordination on Everbridge, the emergency-notification system now used by Beatrice and other neighboring counties. Officials said cross-county use of Everbridge should improve mutual aid notifications and template sharing. Panelists also discussed planning and possible outside assistance for the Cattlemen's Ball event, which will involve Blue Springs Fire Department and Wymore EMS jurisdictions.
Road and Bridge updates noted snow removal readiness; a Washington County, Kansas memorandum of understanding was reported as approved. Staff said a road work area will remain closed until dirt work and compaction allow paving in warmer weather.
