The Gage County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 19 approved consent-agenda claims totaling $1,026,869.29 (initial total) and, after separate votes on several items, a revised claims total of $1,055,690.64.
The board voted separately to approve claim number 25020187 to Johnny's Welding Inc. for $600. The motion was moved by Dorn and seconded by Haxby; the clerk recorded the vote as 6 in favor with Supervisor Jurgens abstaining.
The board also considered claim number 25020194 to RL Team in Construction in the amount of $28,221.35. Prior to the vote a speaker on the dais stated, “This is a company I'm associated with.” The board subsequently voted to approve the RL Team claim; the clerk recorded the vote as 6 in favor with a board member recorded as abstaining (transcript lists the abstention as “Team” or similar). The meeting record shows the board discussed the association on the record but took no additional action beyond recording the abstention.
Other routine consent items approved included utility permits for Windstream Nebraska LLC for fiber-line work and the appointment of caretakers for county Pioneer Cemeteries for the 2025 season.
The board carried the consent agenda after votes on the separately listed claims and placed correspondence on file.
