Commission approves outdoor storage expansion at Division Drive for government-contractor supplies

The Mentor Planning Commission on March 20 approved a proposal to expand an existing outdoor storage lot at 7750 Division Drive so the business can store longer sections of pipe and other inventory sold to government contractors.
Applicant Dan Gilmore described the need to extend the outdoor storage area to accommodate materials acquired from the federal government (NASSCOs) and said the new fence will match existing fencing. Planning staff represented by Kathy told the commission the proposal meets the city requirements for outdoor storage fencing and surfacing and that there is adequate space on the site.
Commissioner comments recorded no objection; one commissioner noted the applicant’s statement that the new fencing would match the existing fence. The commission approved the expansion with four conditions; roll-call votes were unanimous among those present.
The applicant may proceed toward permitting and must meet the four conditions of approval recorded with the agenda item.
