Founder of proposed Do and Be Arts Academy urges support for arts-integrated charter school

She said the school will provide students access to visual and performing arts professionals and noted research showing arts-integrated programs can boost academic achievement and social-emotional skills. O'Donnell said the school would be located in the 89108 ZIP code (City Council Ward 5) and invited commissioners to learn more; she provided a website: DoBeArtsAcademy.org.
Chair Cherk thanked O'Donnell and asked to follow up after the meeting. No action was taken; the comment was received under the citizen participation agenda item.
