Officials told the board on March 20 that the Parks and Recreation Department is on track to have playground equipment at Silver Beach installed prior to Memorial Day. The department also reported progress on the Love Creek Simpson Cabin replacement project.
The Personnel and Human Services committee reviewed and advanced an Orchard Hills recycling agreement that has supported county recycling events for about 25 years; the committee approved the resolution and it will appear on the board agenda for final action.
Parks staff also provided updates on a materials management plan coordinated by the Southwest Michigan Planning Commission and described coordination with local units of government on bluff-area projects and playground funding. No final policy changes were adopted at the full board meeting; committees will forward memos or resolutions as appropriate.
