The Columbia County Planning Commission voted to approve the preliminary plat for Highland Lakes West, Section 2, a residential subdivision that will contain 92 single-family lots.
Planning staff presented the plat, saying it proposes 92 lots with a minimum lot size of 10,125 square feet and an average lot size of 11,527 square feet. Setbacks were described as 55 feet from the centerline, and 10 feet from side and rear property lines; staff said sidewalks and street trees will be provided on both sides of all streets and that Section 2 will include 5.74 acres of open space. Staff recommended approval.
A planning commission member moved to approve the preliminary plat; another member seconded and the motion carried by voice vote. The approval is a recommendation for the Board of Commissioners, as the Planning Commission is a recommending body; the Board will take final action at its scheduled meeting.
