The MSD Martinsville Schools Board of Trustees approved its consent agenda and a series of routine action items by voice vote during the meeting.
Items approved included: the consent agenda (minutes, payroll, claims, budgetary items and personnel report); an overnight trip for the high‑school softball team to Terre Haute (no district funds expended); attendance at the School Nutrition Association national conference in San Antonio (no district funds expended); DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC) travel to Orlando, April 25–30; USAD (Academic Decathlon) nationals in Des Moines, April 29–May 4 (no district funds expended); a visit to a Sprung System Aquatic Center in Idaho; and Project Lead the Way training grant funding of $2,500.
The board also approved the second reading of policies 1 through 7 as a group, chartered two Martinsville High School ECA clubs (Environmental Club and Key Club), and accepted an anonymous $5,000 donation to the Martinsville High School Dance Marathon. Each motion was advanced by a board member and carried by voice vote; the meeting record shows no roll‑call tallies.
During the consent and action items the board repeatedly stated that several student trips and national competitions would incur no district expense. No detailed budget amendments were presented or approved during the meeting.
A public commenter later raised an individual student-related concern; the board offered to follow up with the commenter outside the public meeting. No formal policy changes or new budget appropriations were made during the session.
