A trustee moved to approve the designation and a second followed; the motion passed after an audible vote of board members. The superintendent said the designation is meant to help recruitment and referenced partnerships with postsecondary institutions as part of broader staffing efforts.
The designation covers elementary categories including early childhood, elementary art, elementary music and intervention, and other roles that fall under elementary certification. The board approved the motion by voice vote; the meeting record shows multiple “Aye” responses and the chair’s affirmative vote. No specific salary adjustments, stipend amounts or hiring incentives were detailed at the meeting; trustees said a fuller presentation on related HR strategies will be provided at a later date.
