Staff said renting the equipment 5–15 times per year has historically cost $12,000–$15,000 annually, and ownership was presented as a sound long‑term choice.
• Street lighting contract for 2024 sidewalk gaps (AB25‑024): Council authorized the mayor to sign a lighting contract with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) for installation of poles, arms and luminaires on Orchard Drive and Cedar Falls Way in an amount not to exceed $83,028.60. Staff said the fixtures will match existing nearby poles and that PSE’s agreement will include installation and final connection.
• Section 4(f) de minimis concurrence letter for South Fork Avenue extension / Starfish roundabout (AB25‑025): Council authorized the mayor or designee to sign the Section 4(f) acquisitions de minimis impact concurrence letter, a federal‑process step related to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance for right‑of‑way changes tied to the planned roundabout at North Bend Way, Eighth Street and South Fork Avenue.
Each of these motions was reported as passing unanimously in the public meeting record.
