The Moorhead Arts and Culture Commission held its annual officer election March 17 and designated representatives for standing committees and working groups.
During the meeting commissioners moved to continue the commission's current chair and vice chair in their roles for 2025 and to name members for subcommittees. A motion to continue the chair was made and seconded and approved by voice vote; a separate motion to continue Carrie Rogers as vice chair was made and approved by voice vote. The commission also named two members to the 2025 artist review team (Jonathan Rutter and Britta Trigstead), selected a commissioner to represent the Arts and Culture Commission on the Moorhead Review Group, and appointed a representative to the Moorhead Sculpture Walk Working Group.
After elections, commissioners shared reports and community event notices. Highlights included an upcoming performance by Bill Bowers at Concordia's Francis Comstock Theater on March 20; Concordia Art Department and MSUM student juried exhibitions with opening dates noted; and an exhibit by former commission member Dennis Kroll at the Rourke through April 20. Commissioners also acknowledged that Jonathan Rutter received a Moorhead community award at a recent council meeting and thanked him for his service.
Motions approving officers and representatives were recorded by voice vote; the meeting adjourned after reports with no further formal action.
