Magnolia Independent School District construction staff told the board the junior high built with 2022 bond funding is nearing completion and remains on schedule for early May occupancy.
Project staff presented photos of the main entry, reception area, library, choir room, finished classrooms, kitchen and canopy/patio areas. The presentation said finishes are mostly complete, protective coverings remain in places, and landscaping work will be completed to take advantage of the summer growing season. Furniture move‑in was scheduled for about May 15, and the project team said bleachers are on site but will be installed after the gym floor finishes cure.
Project representatives described remaining items as corridor finishes, tile deliveries and exterior work. The presentation noted that key spaces including the kitchen and serving lines are operational and that classroom technology has been installed and secured. The construction lead estimated the project was within about 30 days of completion at the time of the report.
Board members thanked the team and asked for closer photos of exterior graphics at a future update.
