TOMBALL, Texas — Tomball ISD officials told trustees on Monday that the Texas Education Agency conducted an intruder detection audit in February, identified a finding at one of two campuses reviewed and that the district has completed corrective actions.
Dr. Steven Gutierrez reported the audit and said the finding was identified during the TEA review of two campuses. Gutierrez told the board that the district had completed all corrective actions and that further details would be discussed in executive session for reasons of safety and security.
The board did not discuss specifics of the finding or corrective measures in open session. Gutierrez prefaced his remarks by referencing the TEA audit and notified trustees that the topic would be addressed in executive session later in the meeting.
The district’s public statement at the workshop was limited to the identification of an audit finding at one campus, the assertion that corrective actions are complete and that detailed discussion will occur in closed session.
