Charter wins 5-year franchise extension; proposes $5 million broadband project to serve about 1,003 addresses

Charter described earlier ARPA-funded project attempts that the company returned to the state, but said the company still plans a county project of about $5 million.
The motion to extend the permit passed by voice vote; commissioners did not record a roll-call tally in the transcript. Charter’s representative did not identify specific census tracts in the public remarks; he said the addresses were “mostly around the River Connecticut” and in parts of town and county.
