The Sawyer County Board approved a five‑year renewal of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the town of Radisson regarding maintenance of the road to the Pipestone Tower.
County staff explained the county owns the tower site (on leased private land) and the MOU — first executed five years ago — allows the county to maintain the short road that primarily serves the tower. Under the agreement, Radisson continues to forgo road aid for that segment while the county will continue maintenance in exchange for administering the site road. County staff said there are no recommended changes to the existing MOU.
Supervisor Mark Hellwig moved approval and Supervisor Van Hatten seconded. The motion passed on a voice vote.
