The correction was requested by Commissioner Enrique Cisneros during the consent-agenda vote. Cisneros said his "interpretation was that they were okay with with either a duplex or or or 2 dwellings. Anything except the 3 units," and asked the minutes be changed to state residents were "in favor of no more than 2 units." Commissioner Andrew Arroyos seconded the motion. The motion carried with three aye votes from Cisneros, Arroyos and Commissioner David Estrada.
Why it matters: the revision clarifies the official public-record account of a prior public hearing and the community preference recorded on that item. Commission procedures staff advised how to record the correction and move the minutes forward.
At the meeting, a staff adviser, Mr. Boddy, explained the procedural step: "You can make a motion to approve the minutes with a change to... and change, you know, 3 units to maximum of 2," advice that Cisneros followed when making the motion. With no further debate the commission approved the minutes as corrected.
The commission proceeded to the evening's scheduled zoning items after the vote. The meeting ended with a unanimous motion to adjourn at 5:54 p.m.
