Green Bay landmarks staff change; loan fund status and code edits flagged for April meeting

Commission staff said the staffing change will shift some administrative responsibilities and that Flatt will be more substantively involved with the commission’s work. Jason Flatt acknowledged the announcement on the meeting record.
Commissioners asked about the commission loan fund. Staff said they did not have an exact remaining balance available at the meeting but reported that two loans have been issued this year and that the commission’s informal goal is to preserve enough funds to make at least two loans annually. Staff offered to provide a final loan‑fund balance at the next meeting or by e‑mail.
Staff also told commissioners they are preparing technical edits to the landmarks code and are considering adding additional item types to staff‑level certificate of appropriateness approvals, such as some commercial signs and items not visible from the public right of way. The proposed code edits and a list of which types of work staff might approve administratively were described as an informational item; the full packet with draft text will be brought to the commission in April for review.
Staff reported no staff‑level COAs have been issued so far this year. The commission noted the April 16 meeting date and adjourned.
