Jimenez family honored as donation funded West Chester Township police K‑9 'Banzai'

West Chester Township presented the Chief’s Award on Feb. 11 to the Jimenez family for a 2024 monetary donation that, in partnership with the Matt Havertkamp Foundation, allowed the department to train and certify a new police canine, Banzai.
Colonel Brian Revholtz read the award and said the donation increased resources for the K‑9 unit, enabling the department to assist with missing‑person searches, suspect apprehension and patrol support. The certificate presented on the record notes the donation enabled training and certification and thanked the family and the foundation for their support.
Colonel Revholtz said the department and community will benefit from the canine’s capabilities and that the township appreciates private support that augments departmental services.
