Township to advertise 2025 curb‑replacement and stormwater pipe projects totaling $2.9 million

On Feb. 11 West Chester Township trustees authorized advertising for sealed bids on two infrastructure programs in the 2025 capital plan: the curb‑replacement program (CIP 1719 and 1935) budgeted at $2,000,000 and the stormwater pipe replacement program (CIP 1720 and 1929) budgeted at $900,000.

Staff explained that curb replacement is scheduled ahead of paving work on multiple streets and that sealed bids will be collected at the Township Administration Building and opened on or about March 11, 2025. The stormwater work will use traditional dig‑and‑replace methods for pipes and catch basins; specifications are available from the Safety Services Center. Both items were advertised per Ohio Revised Code bidding procedures. Trustees asked for more information on specific streets and whether some curb replacements had been done where trustees had not seen deterioration; staff said crews try to preserve existing curb when feasible but sometimes replacing long continuous sections is more efficient and necessary when milling and paving operations interact with the curb and gutter.

The board approved both advertising motions by roll call.
