The Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly on Feb. 13 adopted an ordinance to place a tax-cap revision for the Summit Drive Road Service Area on a special election, following the service area's commissioners' request.
Staff reported the Summit Drive commissioners met on Sept. 12–13, 2024, and voted to seek an election that would raise the service area's tax revenue cap to $251,467, an increase of $50,000 — roughly a 25% increase of the service area's operating base, administration staff told the assembly.
