Buckley chosen chair again; Nutter vice chair; consent agenda approved 6-0

Fairbanks — The Library and Literacy Commission convened March 12 and elected Maida Buckley to serve another year as chair and selected Rex Nutter as vice chair.
Buckley was nominated and, as the sole nominee, was confirmed by the commission without a contested vote. Nutter was nominated and approved as vice chair after nominations were closed.
Earlier in the meeting commissioners approved the consent agenda, which included the commission minutes from Dec. 11, 2024. The clerk called the roll and recorded a 6-0 vote to approve the consent agenda.
Buckley outlined expectations for the year and encouraged newly seated and returning commissioners to introduce themselves during future meetings. The commission also discussed attendance and scheduling considerations tied to future policy-review meetings.
